Palzi.org Children’s Privacy Policy

What is Covered – Palzi has special policies and procedures for the online collection, use, and disclosure of information from children under 13 years of age, whether such collection occurs at Palzi.org or through any other interactive or online method, including applications (collectively, the “Palzi Platform”). This Palzi Children’s Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes:

Contents

Platform Operators

The Palzi Platform is operated by Pazli.org and contains third-party software (apps) from certain service providers of Palzi including, but not limited to, software developers, internet, association, and public relations service providers (collectively, “Service Providers”). In this Policy, Palzi and its Service Providers are referred to collectively as “we” or “our.” If you have any questions regarding this Policy or any other matter in connection with the Palzi Platform, please contact: privacy@palzi.org.

Information Collection and Use

Non-Personal Information

The servers from which we host and provide the Palzi Platform collect and record certain non-personal information about site visits. The non-personal information that we collect may include IP addresses, the type of operating system in use, the type of technology being used by the visitor, the number and frequency of visitors to different elements of the Palzi Platform, and the activity of the visitor before and after accessing the Palzi Platform.

Personal Information

We do not make a child’s participation in any Palzi Platform activity contingent on that child’s disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity. We will, at minimum, need the following information to deliver the features of the Palzi Platform:

The Palzi Platform requires you to create a parental or caregiver account before your child is able to be registered with the Palzi Platform. We require a parent or guardian to set up an account to reasonably ensure that the individual providing the consent is an adult. Once the consent of a parent or guardian has been verified, the account allows the parent or guardian to maintain control over the child’s account. To set up a parental account, we may collect the parent’s or guardian’s first name, last name, mailing address, date of birth, gender, and email address. Additionally, we will require the parent or guardian to verify his or her identity via email. We may use the information collected about you and your child through the Palzi Platform registration to inform you about future Palzi product plans and features.

We allow parents or guardians to manage their children’s personal information or preferences within the Palzi Platform. To manage this information and these preferences, visit your settings in your parent account on the Palzi Platform. In this area, parents or guardians will be able to alter permissions, access the personally identifiable information that Palzi has collected about their child, correct factual errors in such information, and request to have this information deleted or request that the Palzi Platform no longer collect, use, or maintain such information. To protect the privacy and security of Palzi Platform members online, we will take reasonable steps to verify the identity of the parent or guardian before granting the parent or guardian access to the personal information that we collect and maintain about the parent or guardian and his or her child.

We may send service-related emails to Palzi Platform members. These may include a welcome message and other non-promotional emails or text messages, from which no opt-out option is provided.

Disclosure of Information

The Palzi Platform will transfer or otherwise disclose the information it collects from children or parents to employees and independent contractors of Palzi, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and Service Providers if the disclosure will enable that party to perform a business, professional, or technical support function for Palzi, or if required to do so by law. These entities are restricted to using this information only to provide a service on our behalf. We do not share personal information with any third party for that party’s own promotional purposes. We will also transfer or otherwise disclose personal information in response to judicial process, to comply with legal requirements, and, as permitted under provisions of law, to provide information to law enforcement agencies or to third parties in connection with an investigation on a matter related to public safety or the security of the systems used to provide the Palzi Platform. We may also use or disclose the information as permitted by law to protect our rights or property, the Palzi Platform or its users.

Security of Information

We maintain industry-standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of your personal information.

If the Palzi Platform is Sold or Transferred

In the event that the Palzi Platform or any of its assets are acquired by a third party, personal information acquired by Palzi may be one of the assets transferred. In such an event, we will notify you as explained below under "Changes to This Policy."

Third Party Platforms

To the extent that any of the third-party websites, apps, or other online services accessible through the Palzi Platforms have different privacy practices from those stated in this Policy, those third-party privacy practices govern the collection and use of information you provide when visiting those platforms. We are not responsible for the policies, content, and practices of third party platforms to which the Palzi Platform may link and you should refer to those sites’ own privacy policies to learn how they collect and use personal information.

Changes to This Policy

By accessing the Palzi Platform, you are agreeing to the practices described in this Policy. On occasion, it may be necessary for us to change the terms of this Policy. We will do so by posting updated text within the Palzi Platform, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of those changes. If your child is not a Palzi Platform member, we will not materially change how we handle previously collected information without providing notice and an opportunity to choose how we use that information.
